Job Description

This role involves working as a Special Education Teacher specializing in Early Childhood to support children aged 3 to 5 years in an inclusive classroom environment. The position is contract-based for the current school year and is located in Beaverton, OR. Teachers will have approximately 17 students on their caseload, supported by two paraprofessionals, ensuring a collaborative and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs.
  • Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and related service staff to support students educational and developmental goals.
  • Utilize the Learning Experiences Alternative Program (LEAP) in alignment with the schools pre-designed curriculum.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain regular communication with families and staff.
  • Be responsible for fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages growth and development for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Oregon State Teaching License with a Special Education PK-12 endorsement is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and implementing IEPs.
  • Familiarity with Individual Family Support Plans (IFSP) is preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills tailored to early childhood education.
  • Ability to work effectively with young children, parents, and interdisciplinary teams.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 7:20 AM 2:50 PM.
