Tutor Doctor Pearland is a tutoring company providing private, in-home, one-to-one tutoring to students in all grade levels in Pearland, Friendswood, League City and neighboring areas. The tutor goes to the student's home for tutoring.
The ideal candidate for this job can provide tutoring for improving reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, composition, writing skills, essay writing, and other English language content to students of middle school to high school grade levels. Test Prep tutoring experience is a plus.
Must have a college degree and experience teaching / tutoring English. Must be familiar with the Texas TEKS and State mandated requirements. Must be dependable and well organized.

What do we look for in a tutor?

• Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality
• Academic background in the subject area-degree or diploma
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching and/or tutoring at higher grade levels
• Ability to personalize lessons for each student
• Must be comfortable doing in-home tutoring
• Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel up to 30 minutes to student location
• Strong typing, PC, and recording skills
• Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone

Location: Pearland, Friendswood and neighboring areas
Job Type: Part-time, Contract
Tutors are independent contractors and have the freedom to use their own teaching styles and methods.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rates depending on qualification and experience.
Schedule: Flexible, mostly weekday evenings and weekends
