MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST
DESCRIPTION:
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist
Schedule: Rotational shifts (days, evenings, nights), including weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Location: Tuba City, AZ 86045
Key Responsibilities:
Perform specimen collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of results with accuracy and timeliness.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment across multiple specialties.
Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety procedures, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements.
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to maintain the accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to provide critical laboratory support in patient diagnosis and treatment.
Document and communicate findings effectively in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Provide support for training, mentoring, and competency assessments of laboratory staff and students.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year documented bench experience in each specialty of clinical, high-complexity testing.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science, Allied Health, Healthcare, or Healthcare Management-related field. Completion of at least 35 credit hours of coursework in relevant subjects such as biological science, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and mathematics.
Other: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
